We’ve been building thoughtful solutions since 1995
Todd entered the homebuilding industry with a simple mission: to build homes of exceptionally high quality, and to provide the kind of service his clients would remember as “an experience”. He saw too many homes that were built without enough thought or care, and he wanted to show homeowners what a skilled homebuilding and renovation team – interested in creativity, challenge, and making a home “sing” – could achieve on their behalf.
Todd’s approach has paid off in awards, industry recognition, and lifelong friendships with clients. To this day, he begins every project in the same way, he asks his clients to describe everything they’ve ever wanted in a home – down to the most whimsical detail – and then he and his team get to work. Many of Todd’s carpenters have been with him for more than a decade; he has learned over the years that you cannot build quality homes with a revolving door of labour; you have to invest in your people, train them, and trust them.
As Best Builders plans for the future, we continue to put the people and systems in place that will ensure we remain strong, and can continue to build across generations. We’re a family business, and for us, homebuilding isn’t just about the bottom line, it’s about something more. It’s about a passion for building great homes and a love for fulfilling people’s dreams. At Best Builders, we believe our success boils down to one thing: we truly care about the people we work with and build for.
We give back – with thanks – to our industry and our community
At Best Builders, we think that educated, skilled, and creative builders are a win for the entire industry and for the homeowners they serve. That’s why, over the years, we have supported many young apprentices in their education and training. We’ve also – as long-time HAVAN members – been regular volunteers in “Ask the Experts” booths at trade shows, main stage speakers at BC Home and Garden Shows, and participated annually in the Coats for Kids drive, collecting clothing and financial donations.
In 2020, we began working with Mackie’s Place to create the “Building Futures: Mackie Pie Challenge”. We gathered 20 industry partners and collectively raised $40,000 for the organization. Mackie’s Place is a non-profit organization that provides youth in Surrey with life skills, emotional support, community, and job skills training. As a family-centred business, we fell in love with their vision and the work they do with young people in the community.
If you have a project in mind, we’d love to discuss it!
