    Project Zen Garden… A complete renovation on the inside that boasts clean, modern lines and finishes with a natural Zen garden approach to the outside. Large window openings were created in all areas to give this 4800 square foot home maximize natural light and the tranquil serenity of the garden space. Structural beams were added to create a complete open floor plan on the entire main floor and staircase.

    Shaughnessy

    Split-level houses were a big architectural trend to create larger living spaces and ad areas of natural light without increasing the footprint of the house. This did create some unique challenges for this particular Shaughnessy renovation when upgrading all of the mechanical and electrical elements. With a great design and inventive construction strategy a clean modern renovation was created. This 3700 square foot completed in 2011 boasts custom oak millwork throughout, temperature controlled wine room, user friendly lighting control system and a hot tub area.

    Quadra Street

    A great example of a complete transformation! This West Point Grey house was on an odd pie shaped corner lot that utilized a great view but unfortunately did not conform with new code requirements and city property line set backs. To keep the beauty and view of the lot, a complete renovation was the only option. Everything in this house was redone including all major structural elements to create an open floor plan, all mechanical & electrical, services, insulation and all interior and exterior finishes.

    Eagleridge Addition

    Located in the serene Eagle Harbor area of West Vancouver this 3600 square foot addition off the back of the existing house became the perfect setting for an in-law suite. The shed dormer roofline and vaulted ceilings allows as much natural light as possible and create an open concept floor plan.

    Bayshores

    Best Builders was given a budget, strong design and completion date to bring this project within and were able to deliver a turnkey product on time and under budget. The clients left town for the entirety of construction and came back to a stunning, 2800 square foot condo renovation nestled in the heart of Downtown Vancouver in the prominent Coal Harbour area. Since this project was completed in 2009 custom condo renovations has been a great niche for Best Builders.

    West 12th Renovation

    This West Point Grey project was truly a complete renovation. The clients were faced with a tough decision to build a new home or completely renovate the home for their growing family. The existing home would not conform to new building zoning if rebuilt to the same size and the family would have to lose 500 square feet of living space. So they decided to renovate and make the home as new as possible. Best Builders team lifted the house on platforms, removed the foundations, excavated for a full sized basement, built new foundations and set the house back down. The rest of the house was completely gutted and refinished to create a luxurious family home that fit all of the clients needs.

    York Street

    This is a multi-unit Kitsilano renovation starting as a 4-unit house. Best Builders removed the roof added another storey and create a fifth unit that encompassed the entire top floor to make a 4800 square foot house. The exterior was completely re-done keeping the design within the heritage of the area. Seismic and structural upgrades were done throughout to bring up to new engineering standards.

    Arthur Drive

    Maintaining the character of certain heritage residences is not only something that Best Builders believes in but can also fall into city regulations. This heritage restoration that we completed fall of 2009 in Ladner, BC is listed under the Heritage ‘B’ status. The exterior had to maintain the look and style of when this house was originally built in the 1920’s, while the inside had more flexibility; the design was kept to be seamless with the outside. Best Builders installed all of the creature comforts of a modern home with new commercial grade appliances, cabinetry, flooring, electrical & mechanical upgrades, feature millwork and a custom made hot tub in the back yard.
